My Love Affair with Cars
I have loved cars ever since I was a little girl. I think I decided I wanted a red Corvette about the time most little girls are asking for ponies. My mom had a huge pinkish-beige 4 door '59 Cadillac and traded it shortly before it became a classic, and well before it was known how iconic those fins would become. I clearly remember the day my dad took in his maroon and black Chrysler to buy a Mercury Marquis - I cried in the backseat. Later I learned how to drive in my boyfriend's 1968, 289/3 speed equipped Mustang. A few years later he got a bargain on a green 1970 Mach I that became mine. That was when the love affair kicked into high gear. Since I picked up a camera I have enjoyed capturing images of all kinds of cars - from those that have been cherished and kept beautiful to the ones that have long since been abandoned.
